Terms of use
Last updated : 2026-08-04
These terms govern your use of L'Assetier (lassetier.com), a game-asset generation and conversion service operated by Jean-François Comeau from Québec, Canada (“Lassetier”, “we”). By creating an account or using the service, you accept these terms.
1. The service
Lassetier turns images and text descriptions into game assets (isometric, top-down, platformer, pixel art), generates animated sprites, packs spritesheets with atlases, and offers an asset library, a public API and an MCP server for AI-assisted code editors.
The service evolves continuously: features may be added, changed or removed. Significant changes affecting your purchases will be announced with reasonable notice.
2. Your account
You must provide a valid email address and keep your credentials (including API keys) confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
The service is not intended for people under 14. If you are under 18, you confirm you have a parent's or guardian's consent.
3. Credits and payments
Generation features consume prepaid credits (1 credit = US$0.01 as a reference). Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
Credits never expire. They are not transferable between accounts and not redeemable for cash. Complimentary credits (welcome, bonuses, goodwill) have no monetary value.
If a generation fails for a technical reason (model failure, unusable grid slicing, unusable video clip), the debited credits are automatically refunded to your balance. Beyond these automatic refunds, credit purchases are not refundable in cash, subject to rights the law grants you mandatorily — nothing here limits the legal warranties you hold as a consumer in Québec.
Prices (credit packs, per-generation credit costs) may change; changes never apply retroactively to a balance you already hold.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the images you upload. You grant us a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to host and process them solely to provide the service (conversion, animation, export).
You warrant that you hold the necessary rights to anything you upload. Uploading illegal, infringing or hateful content, or content depicting minors inappropriately, is prohibited.
5. Generated assets
We claim no rights over assets generated from your content or prompts: you may use them freely, including commercially, in your games and projects.
Two honest caveats: copyright protection of AI-generated content varies by jurisdiction and is not guaranteed; and different users may obtain visually similar results from similar requests. It is your responsibility to confirm the final use fits your project.
Public library assets marked CC0 are licensed under Creative Commons Zero: usable without attribution, for any purpose.
6. API, MCP and usage limits
API keys are personal. Rate limits and daily caps apply to protect the platform and may be adjusted. Access may be suspended for clear abuse (circumventing limits, reselling access, mass extraction, unlawful use).
7. Availability and warranties
The service is provided “as is”. AI generation is probabilistic: we do not guarantee that a given output will match your expectations — which is precisely why technical failures are refunded automatically and the least reliable animation types are labelled “Experimental”.
We may temporarily pause generations (maintenance, capacity caps); your balance is never affected by a service pause.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability under the service is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. This limitation does not apply where the law prohibits it, nor to mandatory consumer rights in Québec.
9. Termination
You may stop using the service and request deletion of your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy).
We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms. If we closed your account through no fault of yours, your unused paid credit balance would be refunded.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the date at the top controls, and significant changes will be flagged in the app or by email.
These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the laws of Canada applicable therein. Disputes fall under the competent courts of Québec, subject to mandatory consumer jurisdiction rules.
